Let’s do better for our kids

The state of Texas has vast resources, however, it has been consistently ranked among the worst states for child well-being. Ranking 41st means we are not doing nearly enough. How is it possible that we are failing our children so miserably? Poverty, food insecurity, and abuse are running rampant in our community. Children are aging out of care uncertain of their living situations and futures.

How can we make a change? Townsend Agency recognizes this need and is dedicating our next community cause campaign to The Children’s Home of Lubbock. The Children’s Home is a community of volunteers, workers, and supporters, pouring their efforts together to make life better for children who need that caring and love do exist in a world that has often been unfair and unjust. Their work and impact on our community have been seen and felt. They opened their doors in 1954 and since then have helped over 6,000 children. Their mission of “working in creative collaboration to provide quality care that transforms the lives of at-risk children and their families” very much aligns with the mission and hope of our agency.

The Children’s Home and their wide range of services are doing their part to make Texas better for our children. We are committed to raising awareness and supporting them and then giving our customers, business partners…and anybody else that cares, the ability to help them, and make an impact themselves. We will donate $10 towards our current Community Cause campaign for every single person that gets recommended to our agency for a proposal.
